2007 Barossa Valley Shiraz

Cooper Burns 2007 Barossa Valley Shiraz

Our 2007 Shiraz comes from gnarled vines at the Kalleske Kalimna Vineyard in the western Barossa Valley. These low cropping, very mature vines produce black fruit with intense flavours.

Hand picking with traditional hand pumpovers and open fermenters, were used to create this wine. Following gentle basket pressing, the wine was filled into new and seasoned French and American hogsheads and barriques.

Tasting notes

The colour is vibrant red with purple hues. An intense and lifted nose, displaying blackberry, dark cherry, dark chocolate, mocha, spice & vanilla. The palate is elegant, yet powerful, with rich ripe fruits of blackberry, plums, dark cherries and dark chocolate, all built around wonderfully integrated acidity and soft, supple, ripe tannins. The wine is wonderfully balanced and has great length and persistence on the palate. Whilst excellent drinking now, can be confidently cellared for 10+ years.
